A proper introduction

Since the coding period of the Google Summer of Code is nearing dangerously, I’ve decided to blog a bit about my project and post some updates. The project I will be working on this year is, as I already mentioned, ScummVM. As some of you may know, ScummVM is a collection of engine reimplementations for old adventure games (e.g. The Secret of Monkey Island, a game we all know and love). Since one of its goals is to be highly portable, it enables one to play those games on a variety of architectures, provided you have access to the original game data files.

An introductory post

Hello there,

I’m one of those people who always thought that blogs are a fun thing to write (well not every kind of blog, only the kinds I consider worthwhile :P) but I’m also one of those people that are too lazy to actually do it.  However,  after careful consideration I’ve finally realised that the pros far outweigh the cons and I’ve mustered the strength to start one!

Actually, I’m lying. I’m one of the students accepted in the Google Summer of Code 2009 under the ScummVM organisation and they’ve made me do it. This is a good thing since I would probably never start a blog on my own. And who knows, I might even start using this for my own musings but for now expect to see posts primarily about my progress with my GSOC project.
